Aceo Paintings
Art Cards, Editions and Originals or ACEO are small cards much like trading cards. ACEOs started out as small cards for artists to trade among themselves. Then someone decided they should be available to everyone. These cards began to gain popularity in the late 1990’s.
The have stemmed from art trading cards or ATCs. Art cards can actually be traced all the way back to the 16th century. They were small portraits. They then evolved into advertisements in the next century. After people saw the rise of baseball cards, Art cards began to gain in popularity.
All the cards are 2.5 by 3.5 inches. Like the name suggests the cards can be originals or editions. There are easy ways to tell a print. They usually have some sort of tracking number. You can get an ACEO card in a variety of styles. You can get a watercolor, Oil, collage and abstract ACEOs. |
